Wonderful Company Makes All The Difference

This evening we had the pleasure of having dinner with a very good friend that was out here in Colorado from Maryland on business. Chris has been a great friend for a good number of years, and when his job brings him to Denver, we always try to make a point to meet him for dinner, drinks, and wonderful conversation! Tonight was no exception! We went to Pasquini’s Pizzeria in Uptown Denver. The food was very good, the server was on top of it with flirting with Miko and making sure drinks were never empty. And the conversation was great! It's nice to be able to talk to someone and not have to feel like you have to watch what you say for fear of offending, and/or, feeling like you're being judged by what you say. We really enjoyed Chris' company tonight and look forward to his next visit...hopefully it won't be too long of a wait!

Miko is officially attached to one of her old baby bottles. She will throw her sippy cups at us and bring us the bottle wanting us to fill it...even if it's filled with just water. We don't know if this feels better on her teething mouth or what, but if it makes her happy, we're gonna do it for her for now. By next weekend, this will have to stop. She needs to be a big girl.

It was great to get out of the house...PJ even felt a little better socializing...now we will see what this next week brings. Hopefully the first prenatal visit, since PJ is now on CHP+ and all the pregnancy visits and delivery are free!

Clean up

Chad and PJ spent the day catching up on house work. Miko made through the day without any medicine the first time since teething, but she refuses to drink out of any thing but one of her old baby bottles. Chad has been actively searching for his cell phone that Miko decided to hide.

super fits

Today PJ and Miko went to apply for and were accepted for chp plus, Miko threw a fit the whole time. The pregnancy continues to suck away PJ's energy, and no amount of gingerale is helping with the nausea. The teeth Miko is cutting have brought her to a new level of cranky, and she has added super fits to her repituar. Super fits evolve throwing your self back on to your head, while on your back kicking and screaming rolling in circles until you get what you want, which nine out of ten time she does not get. Video to follow for your entertainment and birth control use. No pic tonight Chad forgot to shut off the camera last night and back up batt was dead.

Growing Pains

It would seem that in the teething war, poor Miko is losing considerably. She is crying and whining pretty much non-stop. We have been giving her Baby Motrin to try to help with the pain, and giving her cool firm things to chew on, but it doesn't seem to be helping too much. It's so bad that even bath time, which she normally loves and looks forward to every night, has become a bitter battle. Tonight, PJ actually got in the tub with her...which she did seem to enjoy.

She did have a great accomplishment today despite all the heartache: She ate a container of yogurt all on her own! There was very little all over her face and hands or on her bib and highchair...she actually ate it all with a spoon! All by herself! A very proud moment for us!

PJ controlled the nausea a little better today with ginger candy and had a better day. Now if the exhaustion would go away, she would be a happy camper!

Chad worked late today. He actually got a job that gave a good amount of hours, so it wasn't too bad.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day...it is Friday!

Teething YAY!

Last night Miko would not go to sleep despite Chad and PJ's best efforts. She finally ended up sleeping the night away in their bed snuggled between them. Chad was up at quarter to seven and so was everyone else. To PJ 's dismay she discovered Miko was cutting three new teeth and was not able to get her down for a nap until after two in the afternoon. After Chad arrived home they all headed to Whole foods to pick up some prenatal vitamins for PJ. Hopefully the teeth come in quick.

Rough Day

Today was rough it began at 4:30 am when Miko woke with a fever, Chad changed her and put her to bed then and awoke again at 5 to try to rock her to sleep again. Miko was back up before six and so was every body else. While the pregnancy continues to take its toll on PJ, she also had a sick one year old on her hands. Miko and PJ switched between lite play and naps on the couch, Chad was on of the few techs in his shop with work through out the day. With Miko uncooperative and PJ in bed early no pic tonight, hope to start again tomorrow.

Mondays Rock!

Chad was late to work today because snow and in climate weather are kryptonite to the people of Colorado. Miko was clingy and a bit grumpy but still managed to wear her Mother out. PJ is getting her but kicked by the pregnancy, the complete lack of energy and evening sickness continue to take there toll.

Shopping day

Today Chad, PJ, and Miko ran sum much need shopping errands. First they were going to take Miko to a new play place in Loveland called Monkey Moe's, but on arrival found that they were closed for the day. So they took Miko to Bounce for an hour to get her energy out. Then they went to Joanns fabric so PJ could get the materials to make a belt for Miko. Finally a trip to Walmart for some essentials turned up a new toy vacuum for Miko.

The Best Fatherly Advice EVER!

This morning Miko was running through the house with a fork (she got it by taking a dog bowl, flipping it over, and using it as a make-shift step stool to get it off the counter...she's too smart for her own good). Chad ran after her, grabbed the fork, then offered this perfect fatherly advice:
"Gimme that!
Running around with a fork is dangerous!
You know, you really wouldn't be half as pretty as you are if you gauge one of your eyeballs out with a fork!"
Ha ha ha!!!

Potty Time?

For Valentine's Day we got Miko a DVD called "Elmo's Potty Time". Tonight we put it on and started watching it. Miko seemed very interested in it, and actually started whining and pointing when it ended asking us to start the DVD again. So, tomorrow, we are going to attempt to start the potty training process. PJ found some cloth potty training diapers online, so she will probably order a few of those in the next couple days. It will save having to buy Pull-Ups and wasting the money on those things. So, wish us luck!

Other than the grocery store run we did tonight, nothing too much happened today.

Oh! Evidently the time out yesterday worked because Miko had no interest in going near her changing table today! Hopefully time outs will always work because we really hate swatting her behind.

Her First Time Out

Oh my gosh! All you could hear today was, "KIMIKO YUMI!!!" Don't know what got into her today, but she was B-A-D!!! It's funny, because PJ's mom just told her that the reason parents give their children middle names is so when they get mad at them they can say more than just one name. Boy, that was the case today! Ha ha ha! (Of course, PJ doesn't have a middle name, but growing up, "PJ" became "PattiJo" very quickly when she was in trouble!)

Anyway, Miko decided that she wanted to climb up on top of her changing table and pull all her dirty cloth diapers out of the pail we have on top of her dresser, then pull out all the disposable wipes we have in a container up there too. PJ was making her breakfast and went back to her bedroom to get her. Usually, Miko is back there pulling books off her bookshelf and looking at them, so PJ never thought she was up to no good. Well, lo and behold, there she was on top of her changing table! Luckily, Miko never fell off, because she surely would have hit her head on her crib because it sits almost in front of the table. PJ yelled at her, then took her out and gave her her breakfast.

Later, while PJ was cleaning up from breakfast, Miko went back to her bedroom. PJ went to check on her shortly after she went back there, and the girl was back on top of the changing table...she's fast! PJ again yelled at her, swatted her butt (which is very padded from the cloth diaper), and put her on the floor. Miko cried for a bit...more so because she was being held back and her feelings were a little hurt...but then, right in front of PJ, tried to climb right back up the table again!!!

This time, PJ pulled her down, looked her right in the eye and told her that she was not allowed up on the table and put her in her crib. Miko immediately started screaming like someone was killing her. PJ walked out of the room and closed the door.

A little over a minute later, PJ went back and got her out of her crib. Miko grabbed her and started hugging her hard, which made PJ feel bad, but Miko has to learn before she really hurts herself. After all that, Miko had no desire to go back to her bedroom for the rest of the day.

But, she did decide that she wanted to start torturing Eros. She kept trying to lay on top of Eros. PJ had to yell at her for that quite a bit, too. Eros kept growling at her, but Miko kept going right back up to her. PJ quickly cut Eros' nails so if she did scratch, there wouldn't be too much damage, but finally Eros went and laid behind the baby gate away from Miko.

When Chad finally came home, PJ was done. Of course, Miko was almost a perfect angel for him. She's such a daddy's girl!

Damaged Goods...

Chad's back is totally screwed up. The radiographs showed that his back curves in, like, two different places. He's supposedly straight, but his back is all curvsey-wurvesy. The doctor's said that they could fix it with treatment that would last about 7 months for about $2,500. He would go in for a re-adjustment/alignment three times a week for four weeks, then twice a week for eight weeks, then once a week for eight weeks, then twice a month for two months. We need to sit down and look at our finances again to figure out how to get the money to do this. We know he needs his back fixed in order to keep working, so it's important we get this done. His leg went numb while he was at work yesterday, so he came home early. He is going to talk to his supervisor about possible workman's comp since the pinching happened while he was working on a car. The doctors said that it's a possibility that his back became out-of-whack because of the continuous leaning over of cars that he does day in and day out. He's hurting, and we need to get this fixed.

PJ went to see about getting Medicaid today. Well, they looked at Chad's paycheck and basically said that we made too much money. PJ tried to explain that Chad made more hours that pay period because he was getting more hours since one guy was away for training. The lady that she talked to was really nice and told her that instead of applying today, hold off until Chad's next paycheck and try then because it could make a huge difference, especially since this current paycheck isn't the "norm" for us. . So, Chad gets paid again on Friday...we will see where his pay is then and then try again. We really need to get the ball rolling on this too so we can start getting the proper tests and prenatal care for this newbie.

Miko had a wonderful day just being her. She is starting to become interested in watching the toilet flush. So, the next step will be to try to get her to start going on her own and flushing it for herself. She stares into the toilet when it flushes, then starts giggling and screaming with joy. Pictures of Tiny Toons "Plucky Duck" come to mind of his, "Water go down the hole" incident! Ha ha!

Kimiko fast asleep:

"My neck! My back! My neck and my back! Oh, I want $150,000, but we can settle out of court right now for $20 and this 40."

Chad definitely did some damage to his back. He actually went to work...again. But was in so much pain he called and made an appointment with a chiropractor this afternoon. The doctors there did radiographs and then did an alignment. They said he had two compressed discs in his lumbar area. He has to go back again tomorrow for them to interpret the x-rays and for possibly another alignment. Unfortunately, his insurance does not cover this. This evening he was feeling nauseous and just wanted to sleep. Maybe he's pregnant? Ha ha ha!

PJ spent the day trying to catch up on laundry, then took Miko outside to run around a little bit. Miko was just as energetic as usual.

Tomorrow, PJ has an early morning appointment with Medicaid to try to get insurance that will cover this pregnancy. To add her to Chad's insurance would cost close to $1,000 a month, and no individual insurance company covers pregnancy. Miko got approved for CHP+, so she's taken care of, it's just PJ that's not covered right now.

Chad plans to go in to work late tomorrow since he has an appointment in the morning as well.

MNO="Mom's Night Off"...We Mean "Out"

PJ had a MNO tonight. She met up with a group of amazing ladies and had a wonderful time. The next MNO is on March 5th when they get together to go see the movie "Valentine's Day" and get some pizza at Old Chicago. She can't wait!

Chad went to work today. He was drugged up on muscle relaxers and pain killers. He is hurting, but doesn't want to take off work. He said that he is going to go in tomorrow and see how he feels, if it's bad, he's coming home and laying in bed the rest of the day...which is what the doctor told him to do in the first place.

Miko had a hard day today. She didn't want to eat hardly at all, and cried most of the morning...well, not really cried, but whined a lot! The only time she stopped was when she saw PJ's laptop, but that was only for a minute until she realized she wasn't going to be allowed to play with it...then the whining and crying started all over again. It's PJ's fault, she used to let Miko type and play on her other laptop, but since that broke and this new one isn't under warranty, it's off-limits to her now...she doesn't understand.

While PJ was out enjoying herself, Chad was trying to get Miko to eat. She was giving him a hard time as well. PJ ordered double dishes at the restaurant - 3 Margaritas - and brought home dinner for Chad. He offered some to Miko, and she did eat some of that. Go figure! Maybe she has something against our cooking now. Ha ha ha!

Happy Valentine's!!!

Today, Chad threw his back out before even getting out of bed. That did not make for a great start to the day. However, it turned out to be quite wonderful!

The first thing we did was go to Emergicare to have Chad's back fixed. The doctor prescribed enough Ibuprofen to help an elephant, some muscle relaxer, and Vicodin for the pain. As soon as Chad took it, he started feeling loopy...and good! That made the day a lot better from then on out.

We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day in Fort Collins by going to Jason's Deli for lunch. The food was awesome as usual. Miko had a grilled cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread, apple wedges, broccoli, carrots, cornbread muffins, and banana pudding. She was hamming it up for everyone!

For Valentine's Day, Chad gave PJ a nice microfleece blanket in pea green (which is one of her favorite colors), Dan Brown's newest book "Lost Symbol", some Hershey's Extra Special Dark Chocolate with cranberries, blueberries and almonds, a bag of Raisinets, and the game "Sims 3" for her MacBook Pro!!! He also gave her a card from Miko with a mommy and daughter ladybug on the front of it. PJ didn't get anything for him...at least not material wise. Ha ha!

We got Kimiko a couple balloons (which she went crazy over!) and a few new DVDs - two with a variety of her favorite cartoons (Dora, Diego, Yo Gabba Gabba, Backyardigans, Blue's Clues, Little Bill, Wonder Pets, Max & Ruby, etc.), and one with Elmo about "Potty Time"! She loves them!

It has been a wonderful Valentine's Day...minus Chad's pain in the beginning...and hopefully that will feel better in the morning.

For the picture today, Miko was still hamming it up:

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Weekend? Weekday?

Chad worked today. That really made it feel like a weekday and not a weekend. He wasn't scheduled, but he wanted to get a head start on a major job he wants to complete by Monday. So, PJ and Miko did their usual weekday thing and played, sang and danced.

When Chad got home, everyone laid down and took naps, then he and Miko left to go to the store. Chad wanted to get PJ a Valentine's Day gift...which PJ kept telling him he didn't have to since she did not get him anything.

While he was gone, PJ called her brother Joey and his wife Isabel, then called and talked to her mom. When Chad came home, she was still on the phone. Chad surprised her with pizza for dinner!

Tomorrow we're hoping to go to an indoor gym type of thing for Miko to play and get some of her energy out.

Everyone's Tired...Except Miko!

Miko has got the energy of the Energizer Bunny! She just keeps going and going and going and going. As soon as she woke up this morning she was on the move. She pulled out her play tunnel and was very demanding that Mommy stand it straight up while she jumped inside of it. She barely ate her breakfast because she wanted to play so badly. When she finally laid down for her nap, PJ got to rest for a little bit...after she took care of cleaning the morning mess, taking care of the furkids, and getting things set for the evening. Once Miko woke up, it was non-stop motion again!

Thankfully, Daddy came home. He started falling asleep. Miko wasn't having that! She climbed up on him and started squishing his cheeks together! She wanted him to play with her with her favorite monster puppet. Running, jumping (she's getting so good at that now), twirling and dancing. Whew! She did have this cute game going where she was running back and forth between Daddy and Mommy and giving us kisses one after another...granted, they are open mouth kisses - she hasn't got the puckering of her lips down yet.

She had fun in her bath, and is now in bed sleeping. We will be heading there soon, but first we have to clean up from the evening, take care of the furkids, and get things ready for tomorrow. It's never-ending...

A Reschedule, An Itinerary, and Leg Cramps...

Well, BobbiJo and Chris' couple's retreat courtesy of the Army has been rescheduled to the weekend of the 27th. So, now we have Valentine's weekend open. And of course, most things that we would want to do are already booked up. So, we will probably have a nice quite day at home.

Chad got his itinerary for his trip to California. He will leave on the Sunday the 7th in the afternoon and will get back late in the evening on Friday the 26th. We are going to make up separate Skype accounts so we can still see and talk to each other every night. We are trying to make sure everything is in order as far as bills and such before he leaves.

PJ has had a cramp in her left calf muscle for two days now. She thought it was from lack of potassium, so she upped her intake of foods high in potassium. Well, when she woke up with it hurting even worse today, she called her midwife. She found that it could be a lack of calcium. PJ pointed out that she drinks lots of soy milk, drinks OJ that has calcium added, takes two calcium supplements every day, and numerous Tums throughout the day when heartburn hits. Her midwife pointed out that it could be that the baby is taking all of that and not leaving any for her. So, she will now add even more calcium to her diet in the was of Viactive. They are yummy, and it's what she took when she was pregnant with Miko...she always had a few in her scrub top pocket to pop in her mouth when she could.

That's pretty much all the excitement we could handle today. Oh! And Miko is really getting good at jumping now...with her feet actually leaving the floor now! She's so proud of herself!

The news has been told...

Now that we have let the world know that we are expanding our family, there's nothing too much going on now.

Chad headed to work, and PJ sent out a message on Facebook to all in her social network. It was nice all the congratulations coming in. We are very happy and excited, and are now trying to make plans for the rest of the year.

Like:

We were planning to head out to Maryland for Easter, but with Chad's new job, he may need to be here for the grand opening happening around that time. So, now we are hoping for a trip back at Thanksgiving. That way all our friends and family back east can meet our newest member when they're about 6 weeks old rather than 6 months old...like it was with Miko. We're still trying to decide if we're going to drive or fly for that trip.

So, things like that are being talked about and tentative decisions are being made. Everyone will know things as they develope since we're planning to see a bunch of people on this trip!

October Is Such A Wonderful Month!

Here is an excerpt of an email that PJ sent to most of our friends we weren't able to call for one reason or another:

Everything's going great here. Life just never seems to stop here for us. Out of the whole year, October is definitely the most expensive month for us. We have Halloween (the 31st), of course, our anniversary (the 31st), Kimiko's birthday (the 21st), and now we're expecting our new little one with an October birthday as well (the 8th)! Yep, that's right, we're pregnant again! We actually thought about waiting until 2011 to try again so we wouldn't have two of them in diapers (we only have a limited number of cloth diapers), but this little thing had a plan of it's own! So, Kimiko will just have to start potty training a little bit earlier...hopefully she's ready for this!

I started having a feeling that I was pregnant again towards the middle to end of January, but held off on taking a pregnancy test until the first of February. It came up positive. We decided to wait to spread the news until I got in to see my midwives to confirm it. Well, we did that today. I know last time I was on the phone forever calling everyone, and texting the ones I wasn't able to reach...well, right now we don't have our cell phones connected (long story, but let's just say that if you get texts from someone you don't know, call your cell phone provider...it could be costing you $10 per text you receive...we learned $300 later!), so, I'm sending you an email. It was so hard not telling anyone! Every time I talked to someone on our home phone or on Skype or through MSN Messenger, I wanted to blurt it out!

We plan to NOT find out the sex of this one, just like we did with Miko. It was a lot of fun doing it like that, and with as much unisex things we got from Miko's birth, we are set no matter what the sex is. We are also planning for this to be the last one...either Chad's getting neutered or I'm getting spayed! LOL! We figured two is the perfect number, plus I'm getting older and there tends to be more complications the older you get, so we don't want to chance our luck (I'll be 36 when this one pops out...just so ya know!). :o)

So far everything seems to be going great. The morning sickness isn't too bad...and I still get it in the evening rather than in the morning. And so far, just the nauseous feelings with no follow through, thank goodness!

Chad is happy and excited, but worried about finances, of course. I've been learning how to clip coupons and only buy things that are on sale, and that's helped quite a bit. Also, we do FreeCycle and the free section of craigslist, so most of the toys or clothes Miko needs is usually at no cost, which helps out a lot! So, I think we'll be fine...but Chad is the one bringing in the money and he feels the pressure. I'm just very lucky that he makes enough that I can stay home and raise the kids and not rely on someone else doing that for me. We may go without a lot of luxuries, but we have all the essentials we need, and can still afford some family fun, so that's all that matters to us...time together.

We just hope Miko can handle sharing all the attention! We've spoiled her rotten these past 15 months, so now I guess I have to start working on preparing her. I guess we'll do more play groups with local kids and her niece and nephews whenever we can.

I know the furkids will be just fine. Thankfully they seem to adjust very well to anything and everything we throw at them.

So, that's our big news...it's pretty exciting to us!
Here is the test we took at home:

It's pretty exciting and scary all at the same time...although we now know sort of what to expect this time around.

PJ is about 5 weeks and 4 days along right now. Pregnancies usually last 40 weeks. Miko took 41 to come out, and even then we had to induce her to come out...she didn't want to leave!

We've also heard that the second time around labor is usually shorter. PJ was in labor with Miko for 28 hours! Yeah, let's hope it's a LOT shorter this time!

Another piece of exciting news:

Chad got the job at Mini!!! He will leave for training on March 7th and will be in California until March 27th. This will be the longest we have been apart in all of the six plus years we've been together. This is going to be weird!

They are opening the Mini dealership, hopefully, at the beginning of April. Chad will work on Minis and BMWs when they need him. He's very excited to start a new job and be able to have more of a variety of things to work on.

So, it's been a great day all around!

Manic Monday...

Today went by pretty quick! Chad went to work with a full belly. PJ made him eggs, bacon (fake bacon) and toast (Chad is the only one that still eats eggs), he was happy...although she makes him breakfast every morning, today was the first time in a long time she added bacon. His work was a little slow today...it could be because of the snow that was intermittently falling all day long. But it was nothing like what they are getting pounded with back East!

Miko was very clingy today. She wanted to be held and carried everywhere, and she wanted to be rocked. PJ couldn't get anything done without Miko being attached to her, which she doesn't mind, but she really wanted to get laundry done today, and that was all but impossible to do.

Before we knew it, it was time for Miko's bath and bed time and for us to start getting things ready for tomorrow...which will be a busy day as well!

Sunday, February 7, 2010

Bye-Bye, Weekend

Not a lot happened today. We got up really early to try to decide if we wanted to go to the zoo. Well, when we got up, it was flurrying outside already, and the temperature was only at 26 degrees, ith a high of about 34 degrees expected. We really thought about heading out and trying to make it, but we starting worrying about Miko. She acts like she can't feel cold, so we would have no idea if she were cold or not. So, we opted to just stay home.

We watched a couple movies, cleaned a little bit, then, when the Super Bowl started, we headed to the grocery store...it was practically empty! We got all our stuff bought and paid for in less than two hours! And, since PJ made a list and clipped and printed coupons, we stuck to it and didn't spend as much money as we usually do! That was a major bonus!

PJ and Miko got an invite to a Valentine's Day party set for 4pm on Thursday, but we don't know if BobbiJo's kids will be here Thursday night or Friday morning, so they haven't been able to RSVP just yet. It's being thrown by a MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) club in Loveland. This is a club PJ has been thinking about joining. She wants to meet some of the ladies and get a little bit more information before joining up though.

Anyway, we're sad we didn't make it to the zoo, but it was probably for the better since it flurried most of the day and was pretty chilly out. Next weekend will be more interesting...we will be up to four children running around our house (well, maybe not Connor, he's just starting to crawl)! Hopefully we won't be too exhausted by the end of it all!

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Preparing...

Today we spent preparing for the week ahead. We're hoping we will be able to go to the zoo tomorrow, so we figured we may as well get things done today.

PJ spent the day making menus and grocery lists and matching coupons to the things needed. Chad spent the day entertaining Miko while cleaning. Miko spent the day dancing and playing...what a life!

PJ's sister and brother-in-law (BobbiJo and Chris) will be going away to a couple's retreat for Valentine's weekend, courtesy of the US Army. They will be dropping Christopher, Relena and Connor over to stay with us either Thursday night or Friday morning. PJ's trying to make a menu that will appeal to non-vegetarian kids without having to buy any animal products. It's hard because they are picky kids! There are plans to make cookies and cakes and have the kids decorate them, and trying to take them to an indoor play place so they can get out a lot of their energy. It's going to be fun...but we will probably all be exhausted by the end of the weekend!

So, hopefully we will be able to brave the cold and possible snow and make it to the zoo tomorrow. If we do, we will definitely have lots of pictures!

Funky Friday

Just a couple posts back we mentioned that Chad was thinking about asking if it would be beneficial for him to go to work at the new Mini dealership his bosses are opening. Well, they actually approached him today and asked if he would like to go over there! After calling PJ to discuss it, he told them that he would be interested. Now, this doesn't mean he has the job just yet, just that they are considering him and wanted to know if he would be willing to go. If they do say that he's a go, it would mean him being in California for almost the entire month of March for training. That would be weird...we have never been apart for more than a week at a time, but if it means him having job happiness, then it's worth it!

Miko is showing signs that she's starting to understand body parts. When we tell her to give us her hand, she holds one out. When we tell her to lift her butt (for changing her diaper), she lifts her rear. If we tell her to move her foot, she will step over a little bit. Now if she could just point to them when we ask her to. PJ is working on it with her.

Our friends and family back East is getting pounded with snow right now. We have a "chance" of snow this weekend. Sunday they're calling for a 40% chance with highs in the mid to upper 30's. We may not make it to the zoo. We will see...

Come On Weekend!

Today was a very boring day. It was more of the same ol' same ol'. PJ didn't even get dressed. Ha ha! And Chad worked...again.

Miko had fun though. She dances to every type of music she hears. Today she started twirling around so fast she actually fell down and threw up on herself.

Yeah, you know it's a boring day when the highlight of the day is your 15 month old daughter vomiting on herself! We can't wait for the weekend!

Nothing Exciting...

Nothing exciting happened today. Well, Chad is thinking about switching to a Mini dealership that the owners of the BMW dealership where he works now are opening. He hasn't decided anything yet, but he's tossing around the idea. If he does decide to go, he may leave home for three weeks of training. He's going to talk to his supervisor tomorrow to see what kind of benefits he may get from such a switch.

PJ and Miko took a walk around the block today...it was a very slow one because Miko wants to try to run all over the place. It was a beautiful day today...got above 50 degrees. If the weather keeps up, PJ may take her to a super large playground up in Fort Collins to play.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Well, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, as did Colorado's own Digger - a prairie dog at Denver Zoo - a few days ago. So, that means six more weeks of winter...yay. We are so ready for it to warm up so we can get outdoors again. Plus having the heat running in the house makes it extremely dry and if we have nay more bloody noses we will become anemic!

Anyway, we did our usual tradition of making a big thing of popcorn (PJ made some kettle corn as well as white cheddar popcorn), and sat down to watch Bill Murray's "Groundhog Day". Miko wasn't too interested and sat and played with her blocks. It's still a great movie!

That was pretty much the highlight of our day.

First of the Second Month

Well, it's February. It seems January just flew by! We're wondering if the whole year is going to be like this!

PJ is thinking about signing up for a class this month with Miko. It's called "Bake, Rattle and Roll". It's being offered at a cafe/playhouse in Fort Collins called Cool Beans for kids aged 1-2 years. It's supposed to touch on art, music, cooking, and more while teaching kids about colors, shapes, numbers and letters. It costs $55 for a 5 week class. We will see where the money is after rent and things are paid to see if we can afford it. PJ just wants to get out of the house with Miko and meet new friends!

Chad had a pretty good day at work. There was really no work, so he did a bunch of training. It sucks that no work means no money, but he does need to catch up on his training, and we would rather have him do it while he's supposed to be there rather than going in on a Saturday he's supposed to be off.

Miko has been running around with her blanket over her head acting like no one can see her. She laughs through her nose when she gets excited...it's cute.

So far, the first day of the second month has been good. We cleaned house yesterday, so today we woke up to a clean home. That's a very good feeling. And we tried a new recipe tonight (yes, we both helped make it together). It was lentil sloppy joes. They were yummy! Even Miko ate a great deal of them! Super easy to make, great tasting, and we all loved it...this will be a recipe we will do again.

Hopefully the rest of the month will flow as close to the feelings of today as possible!
