Baby #2 In 3D!!!

We went and got a 3D ultrasound of Baby #2 today!!! The session was amazing! It was so much better than when we did it with Miko. Miko didn't cooperate at all! She kept putting her leg up in front of the camera and looking away. This one was front and center! It was chewing on a hand, then pulled one of it's feet up into view...it even yawned for us at one point! We told the guy doing the ultrasound that we did not want to know the sex, so when he first put the wand on PJ's belly, he told us to look away in case he caught something we didn't want to see. He found that the baby was in the correct downward position with it's back towards the front (facing PJ's spine, in other words...the correct position to be in for birth). He had PJ roll to her left side, and focused on the baby's face. He said he never went to the genital area (which Chad confirmed he didn't because he was watching the screen - Chad says all he saw was the baby's backside, then the guy moved the wand down towards the head and never went back to that area), so he had no idea the sex of the baby, however he kept saying "she."

Kimiko was a big flirt with him, and he was going nuts over her! She kept running to the TV screen pointing at the images saying, "Baby" over and over. He thought she was the cutest thing ever. He was the same guy who did her 3D ultrasound over two years ago!

Okay, so here's a couple of the pictures from Kimiko's session on August 20, 2008:

Pointer shows Kimiko's right eye.
The leg that kept getting in the way...notice that very toned calf muscle?!?!
Now, onto Baby #2's pictures from today:

Baby's left eye...it's hand is right up to it's mouth.
Baby's lips.
Baby's eye's are open!!!
And then they're closed again. Left hand is in the mouth, right hand is covering the right eye.
Mouth open for a big yawn!!!
And mouth closed again with hand in mouth.
Bringing a foot into the picture...see the big toe?!?!
We can't wait to pinch these cheeks!!!
It turned for one final shot so we could see it's whole face! Look at that little chin!
It was a very good session...it actually brought tears to PJ's eyes, of course. We were amazed at the clarity of the images, considering Kimiko's were kind of hard to make out. We are sooo happy we did this!

So, that's the exciting news for the week! Oh! Other than the fact that that big mouse is still in our house...it's fast, and smart! We had it corned at one point, but then it jumped at Chad, landed on his shoulder, then ran down his leg and disappeared under the oven. We can hear it, but as soon as we go moving anything, we swear it becomes a statue so we don't hear or see it anymore. We're thinking about setting up a homemade humane trap (consisting of an empty paper towel roll, food, and an empty tall garbage can) and hopefully catching it that way...but we don't know if the cats will knock the garbage can down to get to it once it's caught. Ugh! This one has us stumped!

Very Busy Day

Kimiko had a very busy day today...which kept us just as busy!

First, she slept in today, which was nice for PJ because it allowed her time to get some things caught up that she neglected on the weekend. But, boy, when she woke up, it was non-stop for her!

She played with Eros...which Eros didn't particularly care for, but tolerated nonetheless.

Then, she pulled on the curtains and snagged them more than they already are. Mommy got mad, which caused her to throw a massive fit. When she got over it, she danced and played just fine. PJ got out some water-color paints and had her do some art while waiting for Daddy to come home so they could go grocery shopping (another thing they neglected to do on the weekend).

After Chad came home, it was off to the grocery store. Yesterday, after Miko took a shower, she ran around naked for a little while. At one point she went out in the kitchen, put her hand down in her crotch for a little bit, then spread her legs and peed on the floor. We were so happy to see her do that! It was the first time she made any indication that she knew the urge to pee was there and reacted before she went. So, to celebrate, we bought some new panties for her tonight! Dora ones! She was so excited about it she insisted on carrying them herself all through the store! The only problem is that they are size 2T (the smallest they have), and they fit weights starting at 27 pounds...she only weighs 24 pounds right now, so they're a little big on her right now. So, the potty-training has begun. PJ expects to clean up lots of messes, but we really hope that she will be fully potty-trained in the next month...before the next one comes!

Tomorrow should be a busy one, too, at least for PJ. The pack of panties only came with three, so hopefully there won't be too many accidents before Miko catches on!

Our Mouse House

A few days ago PJ heard a noise in the kitchen and went out to investigate. She got out there just in time to see a mouse hop up and over the back of the stove top. There was nothing she could do, but at least she knew what caused the noise and knew to be on the lookout for yet another mouse in our house.

Yesterday, we both heard a lot of noise coming from one of our smaller cabinets and just knew it was the mouse. So, we opened the door and prepared to grab the little thing and put it in a small cage we keep just for the purpose of capturing these little critters. Just as we opened the door, it jumped up and crawled into a small space that lead to the back of our dishwasher. Again, there was nothing we could do. We will say, this thing was bigger than any of the other mice we've previously caught. It's either definitely an adult, or maybe pregnant. We're hoping it's just an adult.

Today, Chad decided that since it was so beautiful outside he would take Kimiko across the street to the playground at the school. While he was over there, PJ was laying on the couch trying to take a quick nap. All of a sudden, Fancy dove straight for Miko's toy area (between the couch and front windows). PJ sat up real quick and saw Fancy heading towards the bedrooms with a mouse in her mouth. PJ yelled at Fancy to drop it, which shockingly, she did. The mouse ran under the kitchen table and began jumping frantically at the pantry cabinet. PJ grabbed a plastic container to try to capture it in, but the thing ran back towards the living room. Sake then lunged at it and grabbed it in her mouth, too! PJ yelled at Sake to drop it, and she did as well. It then took off towards the back door, and that's when PJ scooped it up and put it in the container. Chad came in a few minutes later (just in time to be too late), and was amazed by the events that took place...mainly surprised that two of the furkids got a hold of this thing and didn't kill it. There was a little scratch on it that had a little bit of blood, but it was very minor...possibly from Fancy pouncing on it. Kimiko was fascinated by this tiny little thing and wanted to play with it. When Chad took it out the front door to take to the park across the street, she actually started to cry. He released it to freedom...hopefully it will be smart enough to survive, but it is a little baby...definitely not the one we saw in our cabinet yesterday! So, we're still on the hunt for another mouse!

There will not be a family picture today. Shortly after dinner, Kimiko was watching Dora and this is what happened:

There's a sleeping little girl under that blanket! She had a busy day playing and running around, so she passed out earlier than normal. Ha ha ha!

A Gobstoppers Kinda Day

Today we kind of vegged and watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We both agreed that the original was the best although Tim Burton's had some awesome moments as well. Scary part is that Chad could pretty much quote the entire classic one word for word! Kimiko loved the Oompa Loompas from the original best...she would stop what she was doing to dance around every time they would sing.

Tomorrow we have to go to the grocery store to stock up for next week. Usually we go on Sunday, but today we just wanted to relax a bit.

Maybe we'll pick up some "Ever-Lasting Gobstoppers" tomorrow at the store! Ha ha ha!

Our Little Funny Girl

Chad went to bed early tonight...he had a rough week at work and everything seemed to catch up with him all at once. He's so tired he even went to bed before having dinner!

Since there won't be a family picture tonight, PJ decided to share a couple pictures she took earlier today of Kimiko after she did her hair. PJ wets Miko's hair down with a water-conditioner/detangler solution before combing and pulling it up. Well, today as PJ was finishing up pulling Miko's hair into a ponytail, Miko pulled away and her hair stayed like this until she jumped around a bit. PJ had to grab the camera so she could share the funny event with Chad when he got home. Chad laughed and said it reminded him of Martin Short's character Ed Grimley...don't know about that, but it's funny nonetheless!

Enjoy!

And a very Happy Birthday to BobbiJo!!! We love you, Sis!!!

Baby Doctor...

Well, PJ had her baby appointment...Chad couldn't make it again because of work. Today marks the 35th week, which means 35 days to go. It's getting close!

The appointment went well...PJ's blood pressure is right on mark, she's measuring at 35 1/2 weeks, which her midwife told her is right where she needs to be, and the baby's heart rate is at 145. Kimiko was fine during the appointment until Mommy had to lay back so they could measure, palpate, and listen to the baby...then she started throwing a fit, complete with the throwing of all the books and toys Mommy gave her to try to keep her occupied! We're surprised PJ can control her blood pressure the way she does on days like this!

Chad worked again...like always. He's looking forward to having Sunday and Monday (Labor Day) off. Thunder in the Mountains is happening this weekend, and it's making life hectic for him at work because they're holding it at the vacant dealership next to his. There's lots of traffic which makes it hard for him to move cars and go on test drives.

Kimiko had a rough day today because of having to wake up early for PJ's appointment. She's no good if she doesn't get her 12 hours in every night!

We took our picture tonight in front of the fireplace that PJ just cleared off - we moved our vase from our wedding that our guests signed and the antique clock Chad's Mom gave us so they won't get broken by the kids in the future. PJ wanted to show off her belly, and Sake wouldn't give up the couch anyhow!
